01 Jun Ruth Pancoast, Our Realtor of the Week
Ruth Pancoast, Broker at Classic Homes Realty
This week’s Realtor of the Week is Ruth Pancoast. She is a Danville native, and has over 30 years of experience in the industry. We sat down with her this week to discuss her hobbies, accomplishments and what she thinks is best for a first time home buyer to do!
How long have you been a Realtor for?
I have had my Real Estate license for over 30 years, but have been only back in the business for the last 6 years.
What made you want to become a Realtor?
I wanted to be a Realtor because I love interacting with people and I love looking at/showing houses.
What are some of your accomplishments?
As far as accomplishments in the Real Estate field- over all of the years that I was in the food sales field, I never stopped wanting to be back in the Realtor business. The company I work for now, which is Classic Homes Realty, has helped be to get back into the business by coaching and sharing their expertise to make me a success, and become a million dollar salesperson.
What is your favorite part of working in Real Estate?
My favorite part is walking through the system with an inexperienced buyer so that they don’t make missteps that I can help them through.
What is your favorite thing about Danville/Vermilion County?
My favorite thing about Danville/Vermilion County is that since I was born and raised in Danville, I am familiar with every area in the county. I love the flat ground. I love that you can see for miles in all of the seasons.
What is your favorite spring/summer activity to do in Danville?
My favorite summer activity is playing golf with my husband, and a few couples we know. I also really enjoy the women’s golf league at Turtle Run Golf Club. My other favorite thing is AMBUCS Friday Nights music. I am the Immediate Past President of AMBUCS, and have volunteered for this fun thing since I became an AMBUC.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time I love to sing with the Sweet Adelines, and entertain the crowds who enjoy and support our hobby of singing in the barbershop style.
What is some advice you would like to give to first time home buyers?
The best advice I can give to a first time home buyer is speak to 1 to 3 bankers, and get pre-qualified so that they know what the bank will loan to them to purchase a home. That way they know what they can afford and find the best in that price range.
Ruth is always available to assist you in your home buying needs. You can find her profile under the “Meet Our Agents” tab on our web page, or you can call 217(446) HOME and ask to speak to Ruth.
Thank you again for joining us for yet another Realtor of the Week!
See you then!
